Violaine-Verry-profile.jpg

I’m a London-based hybrid Graphic Designer and Art Director with plenty of eclectic experience in mostly (but not exclusively) corporate communications, employer brand and employee engagement in integrated agencies.

I’ve created experiential, print and social media campaigns for global brands, and my designs have helped launch start-ups. I can pair up with a writer for concepts, or just crack on with designing beautifully clean layouts, clever logos, funny little animations or a gazillion digital assets for your campaign – I’m happy doing it all!

I’m not afraid to question a brief or push a brand when necessary, have strong work ethics, and love solving problems creatively no matter how small the budget. I'm collaborative, supportive, and sociable, with a curious mind to boot. And finally, I speak English, French and German, which might come in handy for global clients. Nicht schlecht, oder?

Outside of work I make ceramics, and cook for my supper club The Clapton Pot – with a bit of yoga thrown in between. My heart is in Hackney, East London, and Marseille. I find they have a lot in common.

CV

freelance

I'm currently available for freelance bookings, and can work with a writer from concepts through to execution, or solo on purely design projects. I’m particularly keen to help businesses and individuals who work towards a kinder, fairer society.

Creativecomeback 2020 returner

In 2020 I was selected by Creative Equals to join an intensive 2-week programme designed with the very prestigious D&AD to help creatives get back to work after a career break. This culminated in presenting creative ideas back to an audience of 70 including Diageo, and an impressive panel of top London agencies (Saatchi, Adam & Eve, Wieden & Kennedy, Geometry, & Ogilvy, to name but a few).

WMW

At this small indie agency I worked in tandem with a writer, and together we turned strategy and internal comms briefs from some seriously big-hitting clients into engaging work that was full of beans.

Highlights included a playbook for Sony, a comms pack for O2+NSPCC, a number of quirky animations (Bupa and Sony Music), branding design for UBS’s new offices and a fitness challenge website (Engie). A special mention to our HSBC client who loved our team’s campaign so much he wrote a rap for it. Job done.

BEST&CO

Digital design, branding and annual reports for the financial sector clients of this long-standing boutique corporate communications consultancy. All creative decisions had to be extra carefully considered and in keeping with our clients’ regulatory and best practice requirements, but I made sure we maintained creative integrity in every aspect of our work. Simply put, I did my best to inject a bit of personality into a rather dry sector.

Freelance

I had a brilliant time helping comms agencies win new business, develop brands and advertising campaigns, on and offline. Survived the 2008 recession too!

Agencies: Woolley Pau (Gyro), Jam (Engine), CNN (Turner Broadcasting System), Other Creative, JWT Inside, McCann Erickson People Marketing, EuroRSCG Riley & Havas People, Kitcatt Nohr

Main clients: Unilever (lots of), Diageo, Jones Lang LaSalle, Arts Council, NHS, Burger King, Health Protection Agency, Office Angels, Next, Shell, ntl Telewest, Hackney Council, Royal Bank of Scotland

Barkers advertising

Worked on a wide range of campaigns at this large advertising and integrated comms agency specialised in employer branding/employee engagement. Won both of the 2 biggest industry awards for best brochure (RAD and CIPD).

Main clients: Barclays, Lucent Technologies, McKinsey & Company, One 2 One
